In May 2019, I attended the Competitionand Innovation Summer School (CISS) in Montenegro, Ulcinj. The CISS offersyoung researchers the opportunity to discuss deeply their dissertation within apeer group of experienced and renowned scholars, as well as other PhD and Postdocstudents.

It also features lectures thatprovide students with detailed knowledge on current topics of innovation, intellectualproperty rights, empirical competition analysis and contemporary issues intheories of industrial organization. I was part of CISS from the 27th of May up to the 31st.

I’ve had the opportunity to share mydissertation with many international PhD and Postdoc students from Germany,Italy, France, Belgium and South Korea. I was thrilled to present KobeUniversity among my fellow students and professors. The summer school wasextremely beneficial, and I was very happy to know that all of us shared the sameenthusiasm for future research in innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover,notable professors from Germany provided me with the right feedback to perfectmy thesis for future publication. I benefited greatly from the seminars thatwere about the utilization of patent data to estimate firm’s productivity andthe application of panel data estimates. I was very keen to understand theempirical analysis in the field of entrepreneurial finance since it was a newfield in Japan. I feel very privileged to meet and make new friends who sharethe same aspirations and goals. I would like to thank deeply Kobe University forgiving me the opportunity to travel and learn more about entrepreneurialfinance.
